Four Benefits of Article Marketing that You Might not Know

SEO Software

by SEO Content Copywriter Jason Pedley
There are no two ways about it - writing articles and submitting them to article submission sites helps your website rank higher in Google. Not only will writing and submitting articles help your site get on that holy grail known as page one, but they can also rank as individual pages on article directory sites.

For example- If you’re in the construction business, and your home page ranks on page one in Google for your search term, it’s possible that one or more articles rank on that page as well - either as articles on your website or as pages on an article submission site. Pretty sweet, right? You’ve got multiple pages for your business ranking right where you want them, but it doesn’t stop there. Here are some other benefits you’ll see:

1. If your articles rank in four places on page one, your competition is losing out on four page-one positions.

2. Multiple positions on page one, whether it’s with articles or press releases, turn you into an instant subject-matter expert.

3. Multiple rankings with articles that contain relevant and useful information will help your prospects.

4. Your competition will see your use of article marketing and have to play ‘catch up.’

Sure the obvious benefits of article marketing make it a no-brainer for your search engine marketing efforts, and with these four not-so-obvious benefits, you have even more reason to keep doing article marketing, or start right away.

This process is not difficult, and you can start using it today.

Create a search engine friendly site

Search engines find your sites pages with software spiders. These spiders crawl the internet and following every link they see to find where it leads. If your site isn’t linked together correctly then the spiders won’t be able to access your whole site, and the search engines will rank you down. So on every page of your site add a hyperlink to the next page in your content. i.e if your site is about golf, and the pages on your site are golf clubs, golf courses and golf lessons then write an article on your home page that include a hyperlink to each of those pages. That way the spiders can access the whole site.

Quality Content

The search engines crave quality content, If you can put the effort into updating your site often then the search engines will love you for it. They will see that your making the effort to create a good quality site and will reward you for your effort.

Backlinks

A backlink is a link back to your site from another site that is similar to yours. Backlinks are VERY important There are a few ways to get backlinks. One way is to write an article and submit it to article submission sites, The best 3 sites the search engines love are go-articles, ezine articles, and searchwarp. Simply create an account, write a keyword rich article related to your site and there will be a box called authors bio, and in that you can add a link to your site. Another way to get backlinks is to email highly ranked sites that have similar content to yours and ask if they will put a link to your site on there website and in exchange you will do the same. So now the search engine spiders will be crawling the net and will find lots of links back to your site, and they will rank your site highly for it.

An HTML <html> tag within the Head <head> tag is used by the search engine crawler to define the title of a Web page and this will display in the browser bar (the blue bar at the top of your web browser) when you visit a site. Search engines use this Title <title> tag to provide a link to the site matching the user’s search query. By populating your most important keywords in the Title tag, you dramatically increase the search engine ranking of the page for those keywords. You should have picked one - three top keyword/s (ie SEO Software) for your websites page, Put the keyword/s inside the <title> seo software downloads </title> for improved ranking.

Stop Words

Some search engines exclude common words from their index, These words are ignored when searches are carried out.

‘The’, ‘or’, ‘in’, ‘it’ are examples of such words. These words are known as “stop words.” To make your pages search engine-friendly, you should not be using stop words in the most important areas of your page like title, meta tags, headings, alternative image attributes, anchor names, etc.

Stop words have no contextual meaning - using them in short areas such as a title, headings, and anchor texts will reduce weight, prominence and the frequency of keywords.
